OpenAI's agent tool Codex App has officially unlocked Computer Use capabilities on Windows. It can now physically control Windows desktop applications through screen vision, mouse clicks, and keyboard input — all to write code and run debugging.
To enable cross-platform collaboration, the system also introduced a Remote Control feature. Developers can dispatch tasks from a Mac or phone's ChatGPT interface directly to a Windows machine and watch execution progress in real time.
There's also a new Profile panel that bundles real-time token usage charts with a self-imposed spending cap, giving developers a clear view of their API calls and helping prevent budget blowouts.
