OpenAI Codex engineering lead Thibault Sottiaux just gave paid users an unexpected gift: a full reset of their Codex rate limits. If you'd burned through your quota for this period, you're back in business immediately.
Sottiaux said the move is to celebrate "a good week" and to encourage everyone to "write more code with GPT-5.5." He also joked that resetting rate limits "costs money."

GPT-5.5, which merged Codex into the main model, arrived on Codex on April 23, covering Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers. The reset follows a week of major product updates from OpenAI, including workspace agents and the GPT-5.5 preview.
