Grok 4.6 is closing in on release. Developers have spotted a feature flag on Grok's official website called enable_grok_4_6_announcement — it's still set to false, but the fact that it exists means the launch entry point is already wired up and waiting to be switched on.
Earlier, Grok 4.6 also briefly appeared in Cursor's model list before being pulled. The listing showed a 256K context window and described itself as built for complex, long-running agentic coding tasks. Neither Cursor nor xAI has officially confirmed anything yet.
