Claude Opus 5 could land this week with Fable 5-like abilities at lower cost

Leaker leo claims Anthropic is putting the final touches on Claude Opus 5. The model could launch as soon as this week, or possibly slip to next week. Its capabilities are expected to be close to those of Fable 5, but with lower running costs.

Anthropic has extended the in-subscription usage period for Fable 5 until July 19th, but the company currently has no plans for another extension.
