OpenAI has officially launched a ChatGPT plugin for PowerPoint — it's in beta, but you can already use natural language commands to create and edit slides directly from the sidebar. The generated slides are fully editable, and the plugin can rewrite individual slide titles, condense text-heavy slides, and even connect with Gmail, Outlook, and SharePoint to pull information from your existing emails and documents.

This comes on the heels of the ChatGPT for Excel plugin, which hit beta on March 5, 2026, and went general availability on May 5. That plugin now works across Free, Plus, Pro, and enterprise plans, letting you generate formulas, modify tables, and analyze data across sheets — all from the Excel sidebar.
As for Word? No official ChatGPT plugin yet. If you want deep AI integration there, you're stuck with Microsoft's own Microsoft 365 Copilot or third-party GPT plugins from the Office Add-ins store — but you'll need to bring your own OpenAI API key.
