Antigravity 2.0 finally gets the IDE basics: terminal and Git panel

August 25, 2026 | Source: t | Developer, Google | 132 views 0 comments

Google just brought Antigravity 2.0 to the point where it feels like a real IDE: it now ships with a built-in terminal and a full Git panel. Whether you want to see what the Agent changed, run tests, check a diff, stage, commit, and push, you can do it without bouncing back and forth to your terminal and Git client.

The biggest change is the Git panel. Previously it mostly showed modifications made by the Agent through its editing tools; if a Python script, a bash command, or some other editor quietly changed files, the UI could drift out of sync with your actual working directory. Now it reads the Git working tree directly, so you can separately view Agent Edits, uncommitted changes, and everything that's different on your current branch.

The terminal is also tucked right into the sidebar, so you can run tests, builds, linting, scripts, and package-management commands. The Git panel handles diff viewing, staging, unstaging, generating commit messages, committing, and pushing.
