Anthropic IPO reportedly slips to mid-October with $2 trillion in its sights

Anthropic is reportedly moving its IPO to mid-October, with roadshows potentially kicking off around then and a listing expected before the US midterm elections in November. The company had planned to make its IPO prospectus public as early as next week, but that timeline has now shifted to around the end of September.

The timing change means Anthropic could pursue a valuation of up to roughly $2 trillion. If the deal happens, the offering would rank among the largest IPOs in history — and serve as a major test case for how the capital markets view AI's growth potential.

People familiar with the matter say Anthropic is finalizing a $15 billion revolving credit facility. Bank analysts involved in the financing are expected to meet with the company before the prospectus goes public. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Citigroup are among the banks helping prepare the IPO.

The IPO is expected to draw heavy market attention, and it could overlap with potential listing plans from other AI companies, including OpenAI.
