Alibaba has officially announced the merger of its three core AI agent products. The restructuring uses the desktop agent tool QoderWork as the foundational base, deeply integrating the enterprise collaboration agent "Wukong" incubated from DingTalk (Alibaba's workplace messaging app), as well as the MuleRun agent execution engine developed internally within Alibaba Cloud. The new product is now under the unified leadership of Chen Yusen, the newly appointed president of DingTalk and general manager of the Wukong division as of June 2026.
This merger marks the end of Alibaba's internal competition — a corporate culture known as "internal horse racing" — in its enterprise AI strategy, shifting from scattered experiments to a focused breakthrough. As the base, QoderWork is currently Alibaba's desktop agent with the highest daily active users and token usage, emphasizing local execution and the MCP protocol (Model Context Protocol). Wukong focuses on enterprise organizational collaboration, while MuleRun specializes in process reuse and execution. The new architecture will adopt a layered model of "desktop interaction frontend, engine middleware, and organizational backend" to create a unified AI product for enterprise productivity scenarios.
Alibaba officially responded that the existing services of the three products will be seamlessly upgraded, and users' subscription rights and data assets will not be affected. The new platform experience is expected to roll out in phases starting from the third quarter of 2026.
