Qwen3.8-27B is getting open weights, too. ModelScope already has the model page up, and based on the current listing, weights go live at 11 PM Beijing time on August 14.
When Qwen3.8 was released, Alibaba said it would open both the Max and 27B tiers. The 2.4T-parameter Qwen3.8-Max weights came online last night, and now the 27B version has its date.
Compared with the Max's 2.4T total parameters, the 27B is the tier that ordinary developers can actually deploy themselves — which is exactly why it's so anticipated.
