Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has struck a global strategic partnership with AI safety company Anthropic, becoming the top-tier partner in the Claude partner network. The Indian IT giant will set up a dedicated business unit to give customers early access to Claude models, co-developed industry solutions, and AI expertise.
In heavily regulated industries like finance, public services, life sciences, aviation, and healthcare — where most AI pilots stumble over accuracy and compliance requirements — TCS and Anthropic plan to roll out tailored AI solutions. The bet is that Claude's built-in safety and reliability can handle the scrutiny.
As part of the deal, TCS will deploy 50,000 Claude instances across software engineering, finance, legal, marketing, and sales through enterprise licenses. The idea is to eat its own dog food first: TCS will run Claude internally to gain experience before pushing enterprise-scale deployments to clients.
The integration goes deeper. In the UK, Diligenta — a TCS subsidiary that manages life and pension policies for 22 million people — will use Claude to overhaul its compliance-heavy processes at scale. The BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) product and platform teams will adopt Claude Code to assist with software engineering and IT operations. And TCS iON, the training platform that administers 75 million exams a year in India, will launch official Claude certification courses to cultivate AI talent.
On the ecosystem side, TCS plans to build reusable skills and plugins for the Claude Code ecosystem, targeting areas like claims adjudication and loan advisory.
