Stability AI founder's new venture wants to rebuild physics from first principles

Emad Mostaque, the founder who left Stability AI after its messy implosion, is back with a new company called Intelligent Internet. Its first product? A reasoning tool called Logos that's still in early development.

According to the company's website, Logos aims to help users break down complex problems using basic rules, then make the entire reasoning process transparent for anyone to examine. For now, they've only released the physics module—mathematics, biology, and economics are still in the works.

Their first published result is a paper titled "Only One Postulate Needed." Using special relativity as a test case, the team claims you only need the principle of relativity—not the additional postulate that the speed of light is constant—to deduce that there must be a fixed maximum speed in the universe. The only thing left for experiments to do, they argue, is measure what that speed actually is.

Given how Stability AI ended up—let's just say it wasn't pretty—the big question is whether Mostaque's new venture will prove more substantial.
