Sequoia leads Mecka AI round at a near-$500M valuation

Two people familiar with the matter say Mecka AI, a humanoid-robot data startup, is nearing the close of a new funding round led by Sequoia Capital at a valuation of roughly $500 million. The size and terms of the round haven't been settled and could still change.

Mecka AI collects everyday human motion data through body sensors and smartphones, then uses it to train humanoid robots and other robotic systems. Founded in 2024, the company raised $60 million just this June in a round led by Framework Ventures, with Menlo Ventures, SV Angel, and Kindred Ventures chipping in.

As for pedigree: Mecka AI's founding team came out of restaurant fintech and crypto, not robotics.
