OpenClaw adds emoji approval and audio interruption detection

OpenClaw just shipped version v2026.5.26 with a feature that should feel like a small quality of life win: you can now approve sensitive actions by simply reacting with a thumbs-up emoji on Signal, iMessage, or WhatsApp. No more typing /approve every time a permission request pops up.

On the audio side, the update brings on-device interruption detection to Google Meet and Discord voice calls. When the AI assistant is speaking and detects that you’ve started talking, it automatically pauses playback. Talk real-time voice sessions can also be interrupted, redirected, or cancelled directly from the web interface or Discord.

Under the hood, OpenClaw has introduced its own image processing library called Rastermill, replacing the bulky Sharp engine and the Jimp fallback library. That means developers no longer need to install native image libraries separately. The gateway startup time has also been cut by skipping plugin and session system scans during boot.

Security gets a boost too: the browser snapshot reading interface now includes SSRF filtering to prevent out-of-bound sniffing, and the session queuing mechanism automatically sanitizes malicious text that mimics prompt patterns, blocking plugin tags from forging internal directives.

Finally, there’s a new temporary Activity Tab that lets developers monitor toolchain calls in real time without persisting sensitive logs.
