Meta is officially opening up Muse Spark 1.3 Max. It's the highest reasoning mode in the Muse Spark 1.3 lineup — when the base model launched, Max was still undergoing extra safety testing and only a few partners could preview it. Now that testing is complete, Max is available directly in Muse Code and the Meta Model API.
Meta's chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, says Max is clearly stronger than the 'high' and 'xhigh' presets on programming and agent tasks. Artificial Analysis's Coding Agent Index gives Muse Code + Muse Spark 1.3 Max a score of 68, which lands it in the top tier.
