Liquid AI's tiny local model scrubs 40 sensitive data types in 16 languages

August 15, 2026 | Source: t | AI, OpenAI | 85 views 0 comments

Liquid AI has a new privacy-filter model with a mere 350 million parameters. It scans an entire block of text in one pass, spotting 40 categories of sensitive information — names, phone numbers, ID numbers, bank cards, API keys, and more — across 16 languages, and it runs locally.

Liquid AI tested it against OpenAI's Privacy Filter and other models in six benchmarks. According to the company's results, it beat OpenAI Privacy Filter in five of the six, losing just one.

The model's weights are open, so you can download it directly from Hugging Face. By scrubbing sensitive info on your local machine before sending content to ChatGPT, Claude, or other cloud AIs, you never upload the original private data.
