Moonshot AI, the startup behind the Kimi chatbot, just closed a Series F round of more than $3.5 billion at a post-money valuation of $35 billion. The round was originally planned to raise up to $2 billion at a valuation of roughly $30 billion, so the final numbers came in well above expectations. The company has already launched a pre-IPO round at a $50 billion pre-money valuation.
For some perspective: late last December, Moonshot raised $500 million at a post-money valuation of $4.3 billion. If the pre-IPO round closes as planned, the company's valuation will have multiplied about 11.6x in just over six months.
The acceleration has been especially steep since K2.5's release.
