Tesla's former internal hacking team lead Yoni Ramon and former Microsoft senior security researcher Guy Arazi have co-founded an AI security startup called Pi. The company officially came out of stealth on Wednesday, having raised $35 million in a funding round led by Brightmind Partners and Third Point Ventures, valuing the company at $100 million.
Among Pi's first customers is Elon Musk's xAI, which has already started using Pi to help secure its systems.
Pi's core product is a "security brain agent" that ingests a customer's historical security events, company policies, and full source code, and monitors communication channels like Slack and email. It then automatically analyzes, prioritizes, and fixes security vulnerabilities.
Business travel and spend management platform Navan, an early adopter, now uses the system to handle 90% of its reported vulnerabilities. Navan's CISO Mark Carter says the system saves the team the equivalent of at least one to two full-time employees' worth of work each day.
