Crusoe, the AI data center startup, has signed a five-year cloud agreement with Jane Street Group worth roughly $13 billion.
Under the deal, Crusoe will provide Jane Street with clusters of advanced AI chips (GPUs) and the infrastructure needed for AI training and inference through its cloud platform.
Jane Street now ranks as one of Crusoe’s largest cloud customers to date. The agreement also seems to have boosted interest in Crusoe’s latest funding round: the startup recently raised more than $3 billion at a valuation of about $30 billion, according to reports.
Crusoe originally used waste natural gas from the energy industry to keep crypto mining rigs running. It has since shifted focus to AI infrastructure, striking compute partnerships with Meta and Oracle along the way. As financial institutions and big enterprises keep demanding more AI compute, GPU cloud providers are becoming key players in the AI infrastructure market.
