Cloudflare has open-sourced Cloudflare OS, the AI workbench it built for itself. Employees can point an agent at company knowledge and internal systems to look up facts, write documents, build dashboards, or spin up small internal apps.
Those apps can read and update internal data, save their state, and be shared with colleagues for collaborative use. Repetitive work can be baked into automated workflows — running code when calculation is needed, and calling models when a judgment call is needed.
Cloudflare also built a dedicated permission system. It doesn't just restrict which tools an agent can use; it also logs which data the agent touched. When an app is shared with a colleague, the system re-checks that colleague's permissions, preventing internal information from leaking out indirectly.
The project is licensed under Apache 2.0. You can try it locally or deploy it to Cloudflare. Running it online requires at least the $5-per-month Workers paid plan; model calls and additional resources are billed separately.
