Anthropic has improved Claude Code's remote control, with a focus on fixing unstable connections. Previously, you had to open a Claude Code session on your computer first, then hand it over to your phone. Now, once your computer is running claude remote-control, it shows up as a device in the Claude mobile app. Pick the computer and a project directory, and you can start a new Claude Code session from your phone that actually runs on that machine.
State sync between phone and computer is more complete, too. If you resume a session on your computer, the phone keeps showing the same live session. When Claude Code exits, the phone shows offline within a few seconds. Switch Wi-Fi or briefly close your laptop, and if the connection drops, it reconnects automatically. During reconnects, sub-agent and workflow states are temporarily stored, then resume syncing once the connection is back.
Model and reasoning effort settings now sync between the phone and CLI as well. iOS is faster at opening large sessions, and slash commands on mobile got some polish: /clear resets the session view, /compact shows where context was compressed, and /diff opens the native code diff page directly.
