Apple Intelligence Passes China's Latest AI Registration Round
Apple Intelligence has taken another step toward launching in China. The country's cyberspace regulator published a new list of registered generative AI services for mobile devices, and Apple's AI is on it. Seven services — including Huawei's Xiaoyi AI, OPPO AndesGPT, vivo's BlueHeart on-device model, Xiaomi's Hyper AI, Samsung Galaxy AI, and Nubiya's Doubao phone model — all received registration on July 8. Apple Intelligence is registered under Apple Technology Development (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Registration is a key regulatory requirement for launching AI features in China, but it doesn't guarantee immediate availability.
