Apple Intelligence in China will reportedly tap Baidu and Alibaba AI

Alibaba confirms its Qwen model will power Apple Intelligence in China, and according to Reuters, Baidu's AI models are in the mix too. Citing people familiar with the matter, the Chinese version of Apple's AI system will integrate models from both Baidu and Alibaba.

Alibaba has confirmed that Qwen will be integrated into iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS to deliver AI capabilities for users in China. Baidu hasn't revealed specifics about its arrangement with Apple yet, and Apple hasn't provided a launch timeline for Apple Intelligence in the country.
