AI research firm Epoch AI released a new report showing that Anthropic and OpenAI generate roughly $9 million and $5.6 million per employee, respectively — surpassing every tech giant on Forbes' Global 2000 list.
For comparison, Nvidia, which already has some of the highest per capita revenue in the industry, sits at about $5.1 million. The estimates are based on media reports and average employee growth rates calculated by Epoch AI. The report notes that it's extremely rare in tech history for a company to maintain such high per-employee revenue growth after reaching $10 billion in annualized revenue.
This suggests that top AI companies' extreme talent density and compute leverage are creating capital efficiency that breaks the limits of traditional software businesses.
