Anthropic just brought the full Claude development platform to AWS, and this time there's no feature gap. The new Claude Platform on AWS lets customers tap into every native Claude capability — Managed Agents, MCP node connector, prompt caching — with updates arriving on the same day as the official Claude API. That's a big deal: cloud-hosted models have typically lagged behind the bleeding edge, but Anthropic is promising parity from day one.
The platform is deeply integrated into AWS infrastructure. Authentication goes through IAM, audit logs stream into CloudTrail, and all API charges hit a single AWS bill — which can also count against existing enterprise commitment spend. It's a straightforward sell for teams that are already deep in the AWS ecosystem.
With this launch, Anthropic carves out two distinct paths inside AWS. The new service is operated by Anthropic itself, with data processed outside the AWS boundary — it's for teams that want every feature, no compromises. The existing Amazon Bedrock managed version sticks around, keeping all data inside AWS for companies that need strict data residency compliance.
