Anthropic's Claude Design turns text into prototypes and slides

April 18, 2026 | Source: aipress | Anthropic | 199 views 0 comments

Anthropic just launched Claude Design, an experimental new tool that lets you describe a visual idea in plain text and get back a prototype, slide deck, or one-pager. Once the initial version is generated, you can keep refining it through conversation or direct editing.

It's aimed squarely at founders, product managers, and anyone else who needs to visualize an idea fast but doesn't have a design background. For example, you could tell Claude to "design a calm meditation app prototype with serene fonts, natural tones, and a clean layout," then ask it to tweak the colors, adjust the font size, or add a dark mode.

Anthropic is careful to position Claude Design not as a Canva replacement, but as a complementary first step. After you create something in Claude Design, you can export it as a PDF, URL, or PowerPoint file, or send it directly to Canva for collaborative editing.

For enterprise use, Claude Design can pull from a company's codebase and design files to apply existing brand guidelines to every new project, ensuring consistency. Teams can maintain multiple design systems and customize individual components.

The tool is powered by the new Claude Opus 4.7 model, and it's currently available as a research preview to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users.

This is Anthropic's latest move to expand its enterprise product lineup. Back in January, the company launched Claude Cowork, an agent assistant for complex tasks, and later added several automation plugins to it. According to a previous Bloomberg report, some venture capitalists have already offered to invest in Anthropic at a valuation of $80 billion or higher, but the company hasn't accepted any offers yet.
