SpaceX founder Elon Musk subsequently confirmed that the company has officially entered the AI compute hosting (CaaS) market and is currently in lease negotiations with multiple firms. In its prospectus, SpaceX lists AI alongside spaceflight and Starlink as its three core growth pillars.
Beyond existing ground clusters in Memphis, SpaceX also plans to leverage its massive low-Earth orbit satellite constellation to build orbital data centers that use solar power and natural space cooling, offering vast in-space AI compute capacity.
