Alibaba Cloud's AI platform, Bailian, just launched a new subscription plan aimed squarely at developers. The "Token Plan Team Edition" offers a flat monthly rate per seat, giving you access to a buffet of AI models from four different Chinese providers. It's a move that simplifies billing for teams using AI-powered coding and agent tools.
Pricing Tiers and Credits
The plan comes in three flavors. The entry-level "Standard Seat" costs 198 yuan (about $28) per month for 25,000 Credits. Need more? The "Advanced Seat" is 698 yuan ($96) for 100,000 Credits, and the top-tier "Premium Seat" runs 1,398 yuan ($193) for a hefty 250,000 Credits.
Run out of credits? You can buy a top-up "Shared Usage Pack" for 5,000 yuan ($690), which gets you 625,000 Credits that expire after one month. One big caveat: this plan is currently only available in the North China 2 (Beijing) region.
The Model Buffet
With one subscription, you can switch between models from four major Chinese AI players. For text generation, you get access to:
- qwen3.6-plus (from Alibaba's own Qwen)
- glm-5 (from Zhipu AI)
- MiniMax-M2.5
- DeepSeek-V3.2
For image generation, the options are qwen-image-2.0 and the wan2.7-image series.
The key simplification here is the unified credit system. All API calls, regardless of which model you use, deduct from your shared pool of Credits. You're no longer billed separately per model. An official example shows that a request to qwen3.6-plus processing about 50,000 tokens would cost roughly 4 Credits.
Tool Compatibility and Limits
This plan is designed to plug into popular AI programming environments. It offers OpenAI-compatible endpoints for tools like Codex and OpenCode, and Anthropic-compatible endpoints for Claude Code and OpenClaw. Interestingly, the DeepSeek V3.2 model only works through the OpenAI protocol. To use the image generation models, you'll need to rely on slash commands or skill extensions within your chosen tool.
But there are strict usage rules. This subscription is strictly for interactive use within programming tools or OpenClaw-like agents. It's not for automation. Using it with platforms like Dify, n8n, or Coze for automated workflows, application backends, or batch processing is explicitly forbidden. Violate these terms, and Alibaba Cloud will suspend your subscription or revoke your API key.
The plan is also strictly personal. It's tied to one subscriber, can't be shared with others, and—as you might guess—is non-refundable. This approach to managing costs and access stands in contrast to the opaque quota systems that have frustrated users of services like Claude Code, where high-end plans can hit usage caps in under two hours of normal work.
