Sakana AI has unveiled its first commercial product: Sakana Marlin, a virtual chief strategy officer designed to autonomously conduct deep research for finance, consulting, and think tanks.
Users simply enter a research topic and clarify the direction in a brief chat. From there, Marlin runs unsupervised for about eight hours, continuously forming hypotheses, scraping the web for data, and verifying its findings. The output: a strategic research report up to 100 pages long, plus an executive summary slide deck.
Under the hood, Marlin combines multi-model orchestration and long-horizon reasoning, building on the company's AI Scientist research published in Nature and techniques like AB-MCTS. It's a usage-based service, sold in monthly Pro, Team, and Enterprise tiers.
Before the official launch, roughly 300 industry professionals beta-tested Marlin since April 2026, helping iron out reliability and research quality.
