On September 7, TrendForce published its latest memory industry research, showing DRAM industry revenue grew 59.5% quarter over quarter in Q2 2026 to roughly $154.73 billion, powered by a sharp rise in conventional DRAM contract prices.
Demand is still pushing hard. LLM training and AI inference continue to fuel AI server demand, and shipments of HBM3e, LPDDR5X, and high-capacity RDIMMs are all climbing with it. Agentic AI applications are adding to the pressure, driving procurement of RDIMMs across several capacity tiers.
Supply hasn't caught up. DRAM makers are sitting on lean inventories, and new capacity is being allocated to server products first. That's why overall bit shipments only rose modestly during Q2, according to TrendForce — supply expansion is still slower than the demand growth coming from AI and related workloads.
