Nvidia's AI chips are now commanding twice the price on China's black market compared to six months ago. A DGX B300 server loaded with eight Blackwell GPUs is reportedly selling for over 8 million RMB (about $1.1 million) on the gray market — more than double the roughly $400,000 US retail price. Meanwhile, the RTX 6000 Pro workstation GPU, commonly used for deploying large language models, has jumped from 50,000 RMB to 130,000 RMB since the start of the year.
The price surge is being blamed on tightening gray channels. Late last year, the US government intensified its investigations into export violations, while authorities in Taiwan and Malaysia also launched crackdowns on transshipment smuggling. The crackdowns have made it harder for unauthorized resellers to move chips into China, driving up prices.
