Meta's AI Chip and API Shifts Have Citrini Betting on a 'Google $150' Rally

Citrini, the research firm behind the "AI Doom Report," says Meta could be set for a massive rally. After it's over, the market will call it "obvious in hindsight" and pretend they bought the dip.

Citrini calls this the "Google $150 phenomenon": before the stock surges, there's endless controversy; after, everyone claims they saw it coming.

Meta dropped a string of good news yesterday. Its next-gen in-house AI chip, Iris, will go into production this September. The company plans to ramp compute capacity from 7GW this year to 14GW by 2027. And Muse Spark 1.1 is now available via a paid API — Meta's first direct sale of large model services to developers.

Meta shares jumped 4.7% on the news. The market's biggest worry had been whether Meta's massive AI spending would pay off. Now, investors are betting on cost savings from custom chips, ad revenue growth, and model API monetization.
