Less than a month after Meituan released and open-sourced LongCat-2.0, the head of its foundational models team, Pei Peng, is leaving the company, according to sources. Pei Peng joined Meituan in 2023 and was responsible for developing large language, multimodal, and agent models. The company released LongCat-2.0 on June 30, positioning it as the industry's first trillion-parameter large model trained and inferenced entirely on domestic computing power. Before Meituan, Pei worked at Microsoft and Google, focusing on search and natural language processing.
