Moonshot AI's flagship model Kimi K2.6 just blew past the competition on OpenRouter's weekly LLM leaderboard, consuming 1.88 trillion tokens in its first week — a staggering 7,683% week-over-week increase. The model was listed on the API aggregation platform on April 20, and within a week it overtook the previous top two, Claude Sonnet 4.6 (1.35T) and DeepSeek V3.2 (1.24T).

Anthropic still holds three spots in the top ten: Claude Sonnet 4.6 is second (1.35T, down 3%), Claude Opus 4.7 is fourth (1.17T, up 180%), and Claude Opus 4.6 is ninth (662B, down 42%). Opus 4.7 was the second biggest gainer this week, nearly tripling its usage. Google's Gemini 3 Flash Preview sits at fifth (1.03T, down 11%), while Step 3.5 Flash from Chinese startup Stepfun (762B, up 78%) and Nvidia's Nemotron 3 Super free (656B, up 25%) also saw notable jumps.

OpenRouter's rankings are based on actual token consumption by each model on the platform, reflecting real developer API preferences.
