SimilarWeb's latest traffic data shows the consumer AI market has officially moved past ChatGPT's era of unchallenged dominance, entering a three-horse race among OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic. Over the past six months, ChatGPT's share of global user traffic has fallen sharply from 80% to 60%. Meanwhile, Gemini's unique visitor traffic relative to ChatGPT has doubled, rising from 20% to 50%, while Claude's relative share surged from 3% to 20%.

Among the top 100 websites globally, Claude was the fastest-growing last quarter with a 255% quarter-over-quarter increase (rising to 36th place), while DeepSeek grew 105% to rank 78th. Combining official active user data (ChatGPT 900 million weekly active users, Gemini 900 million monthly active users) suggests: ChatGPT's web and mobile weekly active users (WAU) around 900 million, monthly active users (MAU) reaching 1.5 billion; Gemini maintains roughly 500 million WAU and 900 million MAU; Claude has about 150–200 million WAU and 250–300 million MAU.

Geographically, Gemini's traffic in non-English-speaking regions has reached 65% to 70% of ChatGPT's levels, including India, Brazil, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and Vietnam. Claude has recorded particularly strong growth in the Chinese market.
