According to leaker Ali Haider, Anthropic is discussing making Claude Fable 5 a permanent part of its paid subscription. The company is worried that removing the model would trigger mass cancellations, especially with competition from GPT-5.6 Sol and Grok 4.5 heating up.

Anthropic has already extended subscriber access to Fable 5 through July 19, and also extended the promotion that boosts Claude Code weekly quotas by 50%. Users can still allocate up to half of their weekly quota to Fable 5. The company previously only promised to restore Fable 5 as a standard subscription feature when compute capacity allowed — it hasn't officially committed to keeping it forever.
