AI security startup Alice announced Tuesday it has raised $140 million in a round led by Apax Digital Funds, with participation from Samsung, SentinelOne, Maj Invest, MoreTech, and Phoenix Insurance. The round brings Alice's total funding to $280 million, and Apax Digital will take a seat on the company's board.
Alice is headquartered in New York and Tel Aviv. Formerly known as ActiveFence, the company provides security testing and protection for AI models and agents. Alice says its annual recurring revenue (ARR) is now approaching $100 million, with AI-related business up more than 500% over the past two years.
As AI agents gain access to databases, internal software, APIs, and the ability to take autonomous actions, security risks like prompt injection, jailbreaks, data leaks, and erratic model behavior are on the rise. Alice counts Anthropic, Google, and Cohere among its customers, and claims its client roster includes eight of the world's top 10 AI model builders.
Alice's Rabbit Hole division maintains years of adversarial and harmful content datasets, which the company says now help protect platforms reaching more than 3 billion users. The new capital will go toward expanding its AI security platform, growing its research team, and scaling commercial operations. The company currently employs more than 150 AI security researchers.
