Pat Gelsinger, the former Intel CEO ousted in December 2024, has resurfaced as executive chairman and technology lead at Gloo Holdings, a publicly traded company based in Boulder, Colorado. Gloo sells AI products to churches and Christian organizations, and claims more than 140,000 church and ministry leaders use its services. The company expects $190 million in revenue this year, up from $90 million last year, though it posted a net loss of $159 million in 2024. Gelsinger and CEO Scott Beck have both cut their salaries to $1.
Gloo’s product line covers church operations end to end: an AI chatbot that can write sermons, schedule volunteers, send personalized messages to congregants, and automatically chop long sermons into short videos ranked by viral potential. For university and enterprise customers, Gloo AI Studio sells large language models fine-tuned on Christian values — ask “what is the purpose of life” and it answers “to glorify God.”
Gelsinger teamed up with AI startup Valkyrie and Bible translation organization Biblica to create a benchmark of over 1,200 questions covering faith, finances, and interpersonal relationships. They tested nearly 30 mainstream AI models. The results: the models performed adequately on general questions, but every single one failed on the faith dimension. Gelsinger is now presenting these findings to leaders at major AI labs, arguing that models should offer a Christian worldview option. He hasn’t disclosed which companies he’s met with. This comes as AI model valuations soar — DeepSeek recently opened to investors at a $44 billion valuation.
