DeepSeek hikes V4 API prices, with Pro peak output jumping 4.5x

DeepSeek is raising prices for its official V4 API, and the new rates — effective August 17 — are noticeably steeper across the board. The sharpest jump hits V4-Pro during peak hours: cache-miss input goes from 3 yuan to 9 yuan per million tokens (a 3x increase), while output leaps from 6 yuan to 27 yuan, a 4.5x jump.

Off-peak rates are half of peak pricing, but even those beat the old prices. V4-Pro will go for 4.5 yuan per million input tokens and 13.5 yuan for output; V4-Flash comes in at 1.5 yuan input and 4.5 yuan output. Peak hours run 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Beijing time, with everything else billed at the off-peak rate.
