Musk Boosts Anti-Altman Story on X as Jurors Admit Dislike

April 28, 2026 | Source: wired | AI, OpenAI | 161 views 0 comments

On the first day of Elon Musk's lawsuit against OpenAI, WIRED confirmed that Musk used X's paid "Boost" feature to promote a lengthy New Yorker investigation into Sam Altman by journalist Ronan Farrow. Musk reshared the article, writing, "Calling him Scam Altman is accurate — this is very worth reading." The boosted post did not carry an ad label in users' feeds, though clicking the post's menu reveals a "Report ad" option. X's own Boost policy page explicitly requires promoted posts to be labeled as advertising.

In the jury selection process, multiple prospective jurors voluntarily stated they dislike Musk or hold negative views about AI. Their skepticism mirrors a broader anti-AI movement that includes activists deliberately poisoning web data to disrupt training.
